This photo of the A & W Drive-In on the SW corner of N. 2nd (Hwy 59) and Bluff Street is from 1965 when Eddie Maddox had the canopy installed and the restaurant renovated. Maddox had moved to Cherokee and purchased the business in 1963.

Lamont Bros. Farm Machinery was in business at 422 W. Main from approximately 1898 until 1913 when they sold the farm machinery business to Jerome Clow and his brother-in-law J. R. Richards. It was then known as Clow Implement and later as Richards Implement. Although the Lamont brothers sold the farm machinery business they operated an automobile franchise for several years. Currently this is the location of Quilt N Kaboodle. This photo was recently donated to the Cherokee Area Archives by the Prent Lamont estate. Note the advertisement for the circus on Sat. May 19. This photo is from 1906 and the circus was "The Big Sells Circus".
