The Cherokee Historic Preservation Commission was created to promote and protect ​the historical sites and buildings of Cherokee, Iowa.  
​
​To better serve the community, the Cherokee Historic Preservation Commission encourages those planning   demolition to contact the Commission and provide us the opportunity to visit the site and document it for the future.
